Goy Named Dean
Rod Goy has been named dean of the BCIT’s School of Construction and the Environment. He had spent the last 18 months as acting dean, and was previously held the position of associate dean of the department. |

Innovative Cement
The Cement Association of Canada has recently introduced Contempra, a new cement that decreases CO2 emissions by 10 per cent while still producing concrete with a level of strength and durability comparable to that produced with regular Portland cement. |

Fundraising
Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation has launched a three year fundraising campaign to coincide with construction of an eight-storey Critical Care Tower, the centrepiece of a $512 million expansion and redevelopment of Surrey Memorial Hospital. EllisDon, a leading member of the consortium building the tower, has taken on a leadership role in the campaign and will help raise $1 million from the construction industry. |
